One Direction

Need I say more about this cake.  The topper is made of black foam poster board and painted.  The top layer has pink fondant hearts with creamcheese frosting.  In the top heart is my sister-in-laws initles, and the surrounding hearts have the initles of each member of One Direction.  On the bottom layer, obviously, is the 1D and lyrics to "Na, Na, Na" are written around the back of the cake.  She LOVED the cake.  She said it was the best ever.  Hmm, I do have to disagree with her on that, but she liked it and that is all that matters.

Cupcakes Galore!

I made over 100 cupcakes for my sister-in-laws 8th grade dance.  Suprising only 20 were ate that night.  The kids were too buisy running around checking to see who was watching them and starting childish drama to eat.  It was fun night though.

Rub-a-dub-dub

A bubble bath inspired baby shower cake for a litte boy named Evan.  This cake turned out to be clean cut and super cute.

Black 'n' Yellow

My sister-in-law, for her 15th Birthday wanted a "Black and Yellow" cake.  This was about the time the song "black and yellow" came out.  I knew I wanted to do a diamond pattern so I came up with this one tier double layer design compleate with 5 roses to give it a hat box look.  It was an adorable cake and after walking around for 2 days with hot pink hands from rolling the black fondant, I grew to love it.

Fishy!

This fish cake was done on a whim.  I whipped it up as a going away cake for a friends co-worker.

Mechanics Tool Box

By far, this is the most "out of the box" shaped cake that I have done.  I did this cake for a mechanics birthday and to the best of my knowledge he LOVED it.  Super fun to make,  this cake on either side has a doorway. One for the cars "entering" the shop and one for the cars "exiting" the shop.  Complete with the handle and lock/ latch,  this tool box cake was a little piece of cake.

Diaper Cake- boy

This is a diaper cake that I made for a baby shower that I helped host with two other friends.  It turned out to be a great center piece and gift at once.  What a fun way to give 2 packs of diapers as a gift.

"Peace Out"

This one tier, double layer, cake was the first hand piped decorated cake that I have ever done.  My sister-in-law was turning 13 and she wanted a "peace cake".  I didn't know what I was going to do, but I suceeded in giving her what she wanted.

                          Sweet Elegance

This elegant, three-tiered, cake is one of my best yet.  Three double layers each covered with a different shade of mint green fondant is daintly decorated with white dots of three sizes.  This cake is then topped with a shiny green fondant ribbon trailing down each side and a bouquet of hand molded while cala-lilies and leaves.

I made this cake for, my best friend, Sarah's birthday.  She loved the cake.   She has asked that her next birthday cake be decorated based on the the book "The Wild Ones".

Dragon's Castle

This cake I did for a little boy named Braiden.  He specificaly said he wanted a castle cake with a fire breathing dragon.  It is fondant covered, and then piped and painted  Braiden liked his cake so much that he has told his grandma that he wanted me to do his next birthday cake.   This cake was so much fun to make.  The dragon, bridge, ivy and brick was done free handed without any stenciling or help other than my hands and my imagination.

Hello,

I have decided to start another blog.  A passion of mine (outside of my dream to be a teacher) is decorating cakes.  In this blog, I will be posting a pic of a cake and then a description of it.  I have done about ten cakes so far, so it will give me a good start on posting.  I will not post them all at once, but they will come soon.
